The underside of every skin is genuine leather. This is where we sew the skins together by hand in our sewing studio – exactly to your measurements.

Size guide
What size do I need?
Three rules of thumb from interior design. The easiest way is to mark out the size on the floor with masking tape.
Living room
The front feet of the sofa sit on the rug, and the rug is about 20 cm wider than the sofa on each side. This ties the seating area together.
Example: 260 × 200 cm for a 220 cm sofa →Bedroom
The rug lies under the lower two thirds of the bed and extends 50–60 cm at the sides – so in the morning you step onto sheepskin instead of a cold floor.
Example: 290 × 200 cm for a 180 cm bed →Dining room
Allow at least 70 cm beyond the edge of the table all the way round. That way the chairs stay on the rug even when pulled out.

Personal adviceHow is the price calculated?
Every made-to-measure rug costs £650 per square metre – with no minimum price and no surcharge for particular colours. Round rugs are cut from a square and are therefore priced as diameter × diameter. Our standard sizes are also available as ready-made rugs in the shop.
Is there a minimum or maximum size?
Each side can be between 100 cm and 10 m – any size in whole centimetres. For even larger areas or special shapes, we’re happy to advise you personally.
How accurately is my rug made?
We cut and sew to the centimetre according to your measurements. As every skin is a natural product, we work to a tolerance of up to 2 cm.
How long does it take to make?
Usually 2 to 4 weeks. In the autumn and winter months it can take a little longer. We keep you updated on the progress by email.
Where is my rug made?
In our own NC Designstudio in Jutland, Denmark – with joinery, sewing studio and upholstery under one roof.
How do I care for my sheepskin rug?
Long wool: vacuum about twice a month on the lowest setting, air it now and then and beat it from the back. Gently brush out any matted areas with a sheepskin brush.
Short wool and Tibetan: neither vacuum nor brush, so the curls are preserved. Air the rug and beat it from the back. If the curls have flattened, you can reshape them with slightly damp hands.
For all wool types we recommend professional cleaning.
Can I see a colour first?
Yes – order the colour samples for your wool type for £10 + delivery. The parcel includes a personal code that refunds the £10 and the delivery cost when you buy your made-to-measure rug.
